Karen and I suited up for the Nooga Santa Pub Crawl 2023 Saturday night (12-16). Wearing Santa’s outfit is fun, but also comes with responsibility. Walking down the street with people yelling, “SANTA” from cars and asking to take selfies with us was a hoot. Meeting wide-eyed youngsters who were totally unprepared to come face-to-face with Saint Nick was a bit trickier. Believing tots were scared witless and a-bit-older children tried to work up the courage to approach and tell me what they wanted for Christmas. Parents looked on warily and hoped Santa wouldn’t blow Christmas for their kids. Overall, being Santa is a wonderful way to get into the Spirit of Christmas.

We kicked off the event at The Big Chill and Grill. Meeting people dressed up to party is a blast.
Most of the partiers don’t dress as Santa. What would Christmas be without elves, snow queens, and Mrs. Clause?
The Crawl was spread all over Chattanooga with Six establishments located on the Northshore. Each watering hole had a reduced priced beverage for participants that wore wristbands.
Encountering a group of merry revelers on the street was cause for selfies and confusion for passing motorists with no clue the event was happening.
The night was cool and overcast, but threatening rain spared us. We took a break to walk on the pedestrian bridge where we posed with dozens of surprised folks who needed to share the Clause couple on social media.
Our last stop on the Northshore was Brewhaus. Real beards and mustaches were handy while attempting to drink a libation.
Moving on to DownTown we ran into Elf at the Chattanooga Billiards Club where the two-dollar drink special was a Jolly Elf. There were six venues downtown and eighteen more on the Southside, but we were done for the night. The event lasted from 3:30pm to 3:00am, but Mr. and Mrs. Clause needed their rest for long travels and the coming Big Day.
