Friday (5-6-16) Mike and Amy joined me and Karen for a tour of the Amphibious Assault Ship USS Baatan (LHD 5) in Port Everglades. The Navy’s Fleet Week hit town along with the Air Show. It was a fun-filled weekend.

Saturday (4-30-16) was a beauty for boating. George and Mary Pat joined us for a cruise down the busy New River and ICW. The river never fails to deliver some interesting sights.

Friday night is free music night on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and we caught Jesse Jones, Jr. blowing some mean sax with his band 4-29-2016. The City puts on these shows and they are a cool way to wind down the week.

Wednesday evening (4-20-16) Karen and I took a dinner cruise to the Quarterdeck on the Dania Pier for dinner. The moon was full, the wind was howling and the variation of boats we encountered drove home the point that size does matter.

March 23, 2016 was a banner day for gazing to the heavens in south Florida. I got up early enough to see the full moon set, the sun rise, the sun set and the moon rise again. Awesome.
