My good friend Todd Snatchmeyer once gushed so enthusiastically about seeing Tony Bennett live that I was convinced Tony was something special. Frank Sinatra said George Jones was, “the second best-singer in the world.” Frank did not think he was the best, he placed Tony Bennett in that lofty position. After seeing him on stage Friday night (2-13-2015) I agree with Frank. Tony Bennett is a performer and singer extraordinaire!
Mike and Amy Chiodo joined us for dinner by the pool at Mike’s in downtown Miami. The sunset accentuated Miami’s skyline and cast a golden hue over the Adrienne Arsht Center as a precursor of what was to come.
Tony’s daughter Antonia opened the show. Then we settled into great seats and were enthralled by the master at work. Tony Bennett is 88 and put on a show we’ll never forget. I feel truly blessed to have seen Tony perform.
