Sunday (11-4-18) on the way home from Lake Lure we revisited Pearson’s Falls. It snowed last winter when we were here. Nature’s Fall show was even prettier.

It’s a tight squeeze to inch through a narrow, one-car tunnel just outside Saluda, NC to access Pearson’s Falls Road.

Taking the road less traveled brought us past this small cascade.

The quarter-mile trail to the granite falls is paved with flat stones making it an easy walk along the side of this spring-fed stream.

No jumping from rock to rock or wading to cross the creek here. The stone bridge is as pretty as it is functional. Signs of the wet summer are everywhere.

The ninety-foot waterfall is in the middle of a 268-acre botanical, bird and wildlife sanctuary. Admission is $5 per person well spent.

Our thanks to the Tryon Garden Club for maintaining this treasure since 1931.
