Saturday was too blustery to go boating so Karen and I searched for fun things beginning with “B” at the South Florida Fair. This fair got its start as The Palm Beach County Fair in 1912 and moved around experiencing name changes until it settled at the former site of The Palm Beach Speedway.
We began with buildings, some original some replicated, from the 1850s to the 1950s in the 10-acre Yesteryear village. We arrived in time for a bang-bang, shoot-em-up, gunfight reenactment.
When the smoke cleared we strolled down the midway to catch the Bengal tiger show. A chick used meat on a stick to entice the big cats into doing tricks for us.
We had twenty minutes to hike down food vendors lane to catch the pig races. Eating food that’s bad for you at the fair is a required part of the experience. I felt I couldn’t go wrong with bacon flavored popcorn. It was as yummy as it sounds.
The Ham Bone Express racing pigs were not boaring. They hauled chubby butt four times a day for a single Oreo cookie.

The prize bovine in the dairy barn were comforted by the fact that their caretakers preferred chicken for dinner.
Babes were abundant at the Las Vegas on Ice show.
I leave you with the banner babes of the day, Miss South Florida Fair and the lovely Ms. Karen.
